Anthony Cashel, Chief Operating Officer at PayByPhone, a global leader in mobile parking payments, has joined the Board of Directors of the National Parking Platform (NPP).
HATFIELD, HERTFORDSHIRE – 30 September 2025 – Anthony Cashel, Chief Operating Officer at PayByPhone, a global leader in mobile parking payments, has joined the Board of Directors of the National Parking Platform (NPP).
Cashel said, “I am privileged to be on the Board of Directors of the NPP. The decision by the parking industry to continue to support the NPP, which was designed to create a competitive, multi-vendor parking environment, reflects the spirit of a fair, open marketplace, one that fosters entrepreneurship, drives innovation, and gives consumers genuine choice. PayByPhone has been a long-standing champion of that and as such we are proud to be part of the new consortium bringing the NPP to the UK. As a member of the Board of Directors I will ensure that the NPP delivers meaningful benefits for all stakeholders and that the governance needed to support a fair and sustainable system is in place.”
The NPP, which will enable drivers to pay for parking in all participating car parks on their preferred app encouraging a more flexible parking experience, was confirmed by the government on 21 May 2025 to be delivered by a consortium of industry leaders, including PayByPhone, RingGo and JustPark and led by the British Parking Association (BPA).
Minister for the Future of Roads, Lilian Greenwood, said when making the NPP announcement on 21 May, “This is public infrastructure done right: built by government, shaped with councils and now delivered by the sector that knows it best.”
