PayByPhone launches Map-based parking

LONDON, UK, 17 January, 2019 – Drivers in the UK, who pay for their parking with PayByPhone, can now use two additional features within the mobile parking payment app. The Maps feature allows drivers to locate parking before they leave for their destination and pin their vehicle location onto the map once they have parked, and the Nearby Parking feature instantly provides drivers with the closest PayByPhone parking location number upon their arrival.

“These latest additions allow PayByPhone to be a part of a driver’s journey from the moment they decide to head out, to the moment that they return to their vehicle,” explains Jonny Combe, CEO, PayByPhone UK. “Our focus is on meeting the needs of commuters, and drivers can expect more enhancements in the near future.”

To gain access to the new features within PayByPhone, drivers should download the latest version of the app. The map can then be viewed by swiping upwards on ‘View Map’ from the app home screen. Clicking on a PayByPhone icon on the map will reveal additional information about that parking location, including time limits.

PayByPhone has been present in the United Kingdom since 2011 and currently helps drivers easily pay for their parking in cities including Manchester, Bournemouth, and seven London Boroughs. In the London Borough of Haringey, PayByPhone has helped completely eliminate the use of Pay & Display machines. The service also includes a variety of convenient features, such as text message reminders that are sent prior to a parking session expiring, and the option to extend parking times from anywhere.
