LONDON, UK, 17 January 2018 – PayByPhone, the global leader in mobile parking payments, today announced that drivers in East Hertfordshire will be able to use its cashless parking services in 26 locations across the district from 17 January 2019. PayByPhone will replace RingGo as the exclusive cashless parking provider across all East Herts District Council (EHC) parking locations.
Gary Jones, EHC deputy leader and executive member for economic development, says: “Drivers are able to add time to their parking via their phone, allowing them to shop longer, enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend they may have bumped into in town, or take a little longer over their dessert in a restaurant. We look forward to working with PayByPhone.”
PayByPhone users can choose to receive text message reminders before a parking session expires and they have the ability to extend theirparking sessions remotely in accordance to the car parks terms and conditions, with the extend-from-anywhere feature. This feature is now also available to users with an Apple Watch using watchOS4.0, allowing parking to be extended directly from the watch.
Hannah Fuller, Operations Director for PayByPhone UK, says: “Weare very excited tobe working with APCOA Parking to launch PayByPhone in East Herts. Our UK head office is based in Hertfordshire, so it’s great to be able to deliver our services to the surrounding areas. Mobile parking payments have many advantages to the individual and to the local authority. Not only does it make the parking experience more hassle-free, but it also greatly reduces vandalism and the cost of maintaining the pay and display machines. We encourage drivers to download the PayByPhone app now, so they are ready to use the new service from the minute we go live. Registration is very simple and takes less than 30 seconds.”
PayByPhone is also available in nearby Stevenage, Welwyn, Hatfield, Broxbourne, St Albans and Hertsmere making it even easier for drivers commuting between locations.
